Nelsonville Bypass Wildlife Preservation Project

In 2015, the Ohio Department of Transportation awarded Ohio University a contract to monitor traffic safety and the effectiveness of wildlife preservation efforts along the new U.S. Route 33 Nelsonville Bypass. ODOT ecologists, engineers, and Wayne National Forest ecologists, along with Ohio University students, including teams from the Voinovich School, evaluated the initiatives’ effectiveness.
